The Little Dragon

Since the end of the 19th century, the Drac has had small replicas for children.

In the 1980s, when the Festa Major opened up to participation by the youngest, on some occasions the drac petit took part in the cercavila and processions.

Finally, with the institution of the Festa Major dels Petits, the figure of the Drac petit began to have its own space, with carriers suited to its size. Although in the early years the Drac petit was loaned by private individuals, in 1996 one was commissioned from the maker Dolors Sans, which is the one that appears today. It is built with fibreglass and weighs 25 kg.

The carriers are boys and girls between 8 and 14 years old. The musical accompaniment consists of flabiol and tamborí.
